Metamorphosis
Introduction
What is Metamorphosis?
Metamorphosis was originally created by Robert St. John in England during the late 1950s. In his various explorations with healing he decided to find a way to resolve the conflict on the planet by finding a means to address the root of that disharmony rather than the array of symptoms we typically address.
He appreciated the principle of Reflexology, that the body heals itself when one paid attention to reflex points. There were many maps of the feet in existence yet they all worked, thus the realization that intention itself was of primary importance.
So he decided to create an approach that addressed the underlying thought patterns affecting humanity individually and collectively. What he surmised was that one could use reflex
points to address the core patterns rather than just physical symptomatic disturbance. This would begin to unravel the tensions on the planet permanently and transformation could
take place.
Along with this he realized that our primary disturbances come in with us at conception. Influences from the past become part of our cellular makeup via our genetic and karmic influences. (Karmic meaning of the past, not in regards to the Hindu religion) Metamorphosis is a means to let go of these influences that unconsciously affect us all in a variety of ways.
What are the benefits of Metamorphosis?
The real benefit is that we begin to respond to life more and react less, allowing one to live more positively and creatively in the moment. The approach is non-invasive and non-directive,
allowing the innate intelligence of the individual to do what is needed. It is amazing how much can take place when we move out of the way.
What does Metamorphosis treat?
Rather than continue to focus on the fragmentation of our disturbances Metamorphosis treats all mental, emotional, physical and behavioral problems as symptoms of our underlying stresses and does not analyze or diagnose their origins. This takes the focus off symptoms and ceases to treat people in a fragmented way.
Can Metamorphosis be learnt by anyone?
The beauty of the work is that it is simple and can easily be learnt by parents and non-professionals as a means to assist family and friends in their home environment. It can also be learnt by professionals as a means to work with the underlying stresses of their clients. Many clients prefer this approach over therapy as the healing occurs on a cellular level, bypassing the intellect.
This allows the client to relax and not have to re-enter or interpret events of the past. By doing this the unconscious mind is un-conditioned rather than re-conditioned. This is the beginning of operating from our own inner guidance rather than the from our prenatal and external influences. It does not take years of training or a special capability to use the work on self or others.
